Alexandra Kalinowski is a composer, orchestrator and arranger for theater, film, tv, and podcasts. She was a fellow of the 2021 Sundance Composers Lab and is a graduate of USC’s Thornton School of Music Screen Scoring Masters program, class of 2020, and was an awardee of the USC Board of Councilors mentorship program, receiving a year of private instruction from composer Thomas Newman.
She is the composer for the new musical Beneath the Bowtie, with lyrics by Tova Katz and book by Katie Lindsay, which was awarded a year-long mentorship and reading by The Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles.
“She has….a soaring voice that she sometimes modulates carefully, other times she’ll cut loose with a full-throttle, practically operatic wail. Her arrangements for strings and winds are clever and emphatic” - New York Music Daily.
She is an opera fan and is also an amateur chef making gluten-free baked goods that actually taste….good.
