Alexandra Kalinowski is a Santa Monica‑based composer, sound engineer, and classically trained vocalist and pianist, with special expertise in podcast mixing and scoring, film and video game music, and musical theater. She specializes in cinematic and emotional film scoring for indie filmmakers and versatile moody vocals & voice-over for creators.

A 2021 Sundance Composers Lab Fellow and graduate of USC’s Screen Scoring Master’s program (Thornton School of Music, class of 2020), Alexandra has scored feature films, shorts, documentaries, indie games, and podcast series. Her diverse credits include composing the award‑screening The Boxers of Brule (official selection at Big Sky Documentary Film Festival and Tribeca), indie films like About a Donkey, and games such as Binky Saves Chernobyl. She’s also contributed additional music to network TV films and episodic series.

With deep roots in musical theater—and currently developing a 1940s period musical, releasing indie albums (with bands Old Hannah and her solo project AK), and serving as a composer’s assistant on Broadway—she brings theatrical flair and production experience to every project.

As a songwriter and session vocalist, Alexandra blends operatic power and lyrical sensitivity in her scores and arrangements. Whether designing immersive soundscapes, engineering polished mixes, or composing memorable themes, she’s a collaborative creative ready to elevate podcasts, films, and theater with emotional resonance and technical polish.

She is also a sewist and quilter and a member of the Los Angeles Modern Quilt Guild.
